Volunteer at the Library
Volunteer opportunities abound at the Maud Marks Library. Volunteers are needed to help shelve, count patrons, and more. We will be holding our next volunteer orientation on Thursday, November 2, at 5 PM. Students should be in high school and must be able to commit to two hours a week. TeenMAKERS
Teens & tweens in 6th grade and up are invited to come MAKE something at the library. This will be a monthly program which will include robotics, science experiments, art & crafts, and more! This month, on November 2 at 3:30, we will be making a holiday photo booth. This is a ticketed program. Tickets will be available 30 minutes prior to the program. Come have fun and MAKE something!
Family Film Festival
School’s out for Thanksgiving! At the Maud Marks Library, we will be watching a movie at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21. Join us as the prince of thieves robs from the rich to give to the poor. The first movie was produced shortly after World War II. The second movie is a cartoon. Popcorn will be provided. Free Internet Classes
Maud Marks Library provides a free class in Internet Basics each month. Every month you can learn how to navigate your way around the World Wide Web and use successful search techniques. You must know how to use a mouse and a keyboard. The next month’s class will be on Tuesday, November 14 at 1 PM. Seating for this is extremely limited. Maud Marks Library, 1815 Westgreen Blvd.
Pre School Explorers
Children ages 2 ½ to 5 are invited to come to the Maud Marks Library on Wednesdays at 11:15 AM as we learn about the world. There will be plenty of stations for science and sensory exploration as we experience different senses. No registration is required. There will be no Pre-School Explorers on November 22 due to the holiday.
Microsoft Excel Class
Are you interested in getting more out of your Microsoft Excel program? On Tuesday, November 7 at 1 PM, the Maud Marks Library will be teaching the basics of how to use Microsoft Excel. Can’t come then? Don’t worry, the class will repeat on Tuesday, November 14 at 7 PM. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are required. Registration required.
