On November 13, Katy Area Retired Educators (KARE) held their monthly meeting featuring “Authors Among Us”, highlighting the writing of Shirley Duke and Brenda Ritter. Shirley Duke, a former educator for 25 years, turned author and published her first book, “No Bows”, in 2006. She has written a total of 67 Educational books for Elementary, Junior High Schools and Public Libraries.
