By George Slaughter U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul praised Katy and other Texas leaders for their efforts to rebuild following Hurricane Harvey Monday, the one-year anniversary of the storm. McCaul praised Harris County voters, who on Saturday passed a $2.5 billion bond package focused on flood risk reduction projects. Monday night at City Hall, Mayor Chuck Brawner honored the Texas National Guard colonel who led those much of those efforts from a makeshift headquarters in the Katy High School Library. Hurricane Recovery Efforts Continue at Mayde Creek High School through Amazon Wish List and a Donation Effort Led by Former Teacher

For Sally Barnes, a Spanish teacher at Mayde Creek High School, the calls came from her hometown of Whitewater, Wisconsin. How could people help?
