10:00 am: Law Library’s “Pro Se Basics” Series Introduces Free Legal Info Resources10:00 am: Law Library’s “Pro Se Basics” Series Introduces Free Legal Info Resources – The introductory classes will take place on Tuesdays June 7, 14, 21, and 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. The classes will introduce important procedural information for self-represented litigants who wish to begin their legal research, represent themselves in court, or seek resources for their Family Law or Probate issues. Individuals may choose to attend individual sessions or the whole series. The material that will be discussed is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Librarians cannot provide legal advice or recommend specific forms. The June schedule is as follows:
The series will continue in July. The classes are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Classes & Events.” Select “Virtual Programs” or “Fort Bend County Willie Melton Law Library.” Choose the program and complete the online registration. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-341-3718. 3:00 pm: Library Hosts Children’s Program On Ancient Art Of Puppetry3:00 pm: Library Hosts Children’s Program On Ancient Art Of Puppetry – This program is for students entering grades K through 5. Ruhe has toured the world with his unique, larger-than-life puppet characters and has performed on four different continents. He developed his puppetry skills while earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from West Virginia University and continued his study while participating at National Puppetry Conferences at the Eugene O’Neil Theatre Center in Connecticut. He has worked as a performer and teaching artist for Young Audiences of Houston for the past 30 years. Made possible by a grant through Young Audiences of Houston, the performance is free and open to the public. This school-age program is for students entering grades K through 5 ONLY. 12:00 pm: Needlecrafters Invited To Nifty Needlers Club At Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library12:00 pm: Needlecrafters Invited To Nifty Needlers Club At Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library – People of all experience levels who enjoy any type of crocheting, knitting, or sewing are invited to attend to get other needlecrafters’ perspectives, critiques, and suggestions. Those attending should bring their own yarn, strings, and needles to start or finish a project, while chatting, networking, and enjoying the company of fellow needlecrafters. Samples of the library’s instructional books, magazines, and websites on various crafts will be available. The program, which meets on the 3rd Friday of every month, is free and open to the public.
