Are you learning to speak English? Would you like some practice in a casual, informal atmosphere? Fort Bend County Libraries presents a program for individuals of all nationalities who would like a place to practice their English language and conversation skills. The “ESL Conversation Circles” provide an opportunity for non-English-speaking people to gather in a relaxed setting, and discuss topics of their own choosing while practicing their English skills.The Conversation Circles will take place at multiple locations in the Fort Bend County library system in April. The schedule is as follows:
Mission Bend Branch Library– 8421 Addicks Clodine Road
Wednesdays, April 6, 13, 20, 27; 2:00-3:00 pm, Conference Room.
Cinco Ranch Branch Library– 2620 Commercial Center Blvd,
Katy Fridays, April 8 and 22, 2:00-3:00 pm, Multi-purpose Room.

Crafting Enthusiasts Invited To Mission Bend Branch Library’s Craft Club

Apr 21, 2022Crafting enthusiasts are invited to a monthly “No Glitter Please” Craft Club at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Mission Bend Branch Library on Thursday, April 21, beginning at 2:00 pm, in the Conference Room of the library, located at 8421 Addicks Clodine Road in northeast Fort Bend County. Share tips, get ideas and inspiration, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow crafters at this drop-in event!People of all experience levels who enjoy any type of crafting are invited to attend to get other crafters’ perspectives, critiques, and suggestions. Chat and network with other crafters who enjoy anything from art and needlework to woodwork and much more!
Those attending should bring their crafting supplies and materials to start or finish a project, while enjoying the company of fellow crafters.
Samples of the library’s instructional books, magazines, and websites on various crafts will be available.
The program, which will meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month, is free and open to the public. Apr 22, 2022Needlework enthusiasts are invited to help launch a new monthly “Nifty Needlers” club at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library on Friday, April 22, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear. Share tips, get ideas and inspiration, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow needlecrafters at this drop-in event!People of all experience levels who enjoy any type of crocheting, knitting, or sewing are invited to attend to get other needlecrafters’ perspectives, critiques, and suggestions.
Those attending should bring their own yarn, strings, and needles to start or finish a project, while chatting, networking, and enjoying the company of fellow needlecrafters.

Friends Of Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library Host Spring Book Sale

Apr 30, 2022The Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will host a Spring Book Sale on Saturday, April 30, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, in the Annex next door to the library, which is located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.People who love books, people who love bargains, and people who need to get rid of some spare change will find a lot in common at the book sale, where they will discover adult and children’s books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs, all at prices that are hard to beat. Prices range from 25¢ for paperback books up to $1.00 for hardback books.
The Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library organization is instrumental in funding library programs such as the children’s Summer Reading Club. Proceeds from the book sale and annual membership dues also help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.
