During Family Story Time and Pajama Night Story Time, families with children of all ages will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes. Craft packets will be given out at the end of each program, so that children may take them home to enjoy. Family Story Time takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays, beginning at 10:15 and 11:30 am, in the Meeting Room. Families with children of all ages will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes. The schedule of Family Story Time activities is as follows: February 1 and 2 – Dance Party February 8 and 9 – Family February 15 and 16 – Hugs & Kisses February 22 and 23 – Dance Party Pajama Night Story Time – an evening alternative for families unable to attend during the day – will take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, from 6:00 to 6:30 pm. Program dates are February 7 and 21, and the themes will be “Family” and “Dance Party.” Stretches & Stories – for families with children of all ages -- will take place on Thursdays, February 9 and 23, from 4:30 to 5:00 pm; the themes will be “Forest” and “Desert.” Families will enjoy stories, participating in gentle yoga and dance, and learn calming breathing techniques. Families may bring yoga mats. Family Game Night will take place on Monday, February 13, from 6:00 to 6:45 pm, in the Meeting Room. Families with children of all ages are invited to play a variety of strategy and classic board games. Hear tips and tricks to help advance skill levels. Family Build Night will take place on Monday, February 27, from 6:00 to 6:45 pm, in the Meeting Room. 10:15 am: February Youth Activities At Cinco Ranch Branch Library10:15 am: February Youth Activities At Cinco Ranch Branch Library – During Family Story Time and Pajama Night Story Time, families with children of all ages will enjoy stories, songs, and action rhymes. In addition to the family activities for all ages, the Cinco Ranch Branch Library also offers age-specific programs, with activities specially designed for different ages and stages of development. Mother Goose Time -- for pre-walking infants from age 1 month to 12 months – takes place on Tuesdays, from 10:15 to 10:45 am. This activity provides caregiver/infant multisensory circle-time activities -- including simple sign language, folksongs and lullabies, and finger plays -- that are especially designed to stimulate babies’ social, emotional, and physical development through rhythm and music. Attendance is limited and registration is required. “Kinder Korner: Oh, No! Playdough!” will take place on Wednesday, February 8, from 4:30 to 5:00 pm. Kinder Korner is a time for kindergartners to enjoy stories, movies, crafts, and other activities. This month, students will make a mini cake out of playdough for their Valentine. “After-School Break: Learn Something New in 2023” will take place on Wednesday, February 15, from 4:30 to 5:00 pm, in Meeting Room 2. This activity is for students in grades 1 through 5. Create a vision board for the library by imagining things to explore in the new year. Learn about different library resources to obtain those goals. Student drawings will be displayed on the Youth Services bulletin board. Creative Connections – activities for school-aged children in grades 4 through 8 – will take place on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. The schedule of activities is as follows:

Library staff will provide a basic introduction to many of the resources that are available to the beginning genealogical researcher. Items that will be introduced include print resources, materials that are available on microfilm, and basic online tools such as the Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest USA databases. Get tips on ways to search the databases, and learn how to fill out basic genealogical forms. Anyone interested in more local-history or genealogy resources is encouraged to join the Family-History Research FBCL Facebook group page. Current president of the Greater Houston Chapter of the American Harp Society, she is on the faculty for the Houston Summer Harp Festival and is an alumna of the Da Camera Youth Artist program.
