Cinco Ranch Branch Library Hosts Holiday Open-House Festivities

Dec 14, 2019

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will host a special Holiday Open House for families on Saturday, December 14, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays with music, refreshments, crafts, and a family holiday movie during this festive open-house event.

The activities will begin with a “Holiday Wreath-Making Demonstration” from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. In this craft class for adults, get step-by-step instructions for creating a one-of-a-kind holiday wreath.

From 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm, enjoy light, wintery refreshments in the Multi-purpose Room.

A Family Holiday Movie will be shown beginning at 1:00 pm. Movie-goers will be treated to an animated family film starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the whole Jim Henson crew. Academy-Award winner Michael Caine stars as the stingy miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is about to get his holiday goose cooked in fun fashion by the famous puppet troupe characters in this fun-filled, musical event, based on a classic Charles Dickens tale. This movie is rated G.

Materials and refreshments for this event were made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, see the Fort Bend County Libraries website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), or call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library (281-395-1311) or the library system’s Communications Office (281-633-4734).
