FREE LEGAL INFO RESOURCES

Aug 5, 2019

Fort Bend County Libraries provides a variety of informational legal resources that are available for free to the public. Fort Bend County Law Librarian Andrew Bennett will provide an overview of these resources at two library locations in August.

The “FBCL Legal Resources Workshop” will take place at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library on Monday, August 5, from 12:15 to 1:30 pm, in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

The workshop will be repeated at the Sugar Land Branch Library on Monday, August 19, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 550 Eldridge.

Law Librarian Andrew Bennett will discuss the informational legal resources that are available for free through Fort Bend County Libraries, including government documents such as cases and statutes, and self-help legal resources. These print and online sources offer information for non-lawyers on a wide variety of topics, such as divorce law, criminal law, the legal process, and much more.

Bennett will also talk about other community legal resources that are available in the area.

The material that will be discussed is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Librarians cannot provide legal advice or recommend specific forms.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, see the Fort Bend County Libraries website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), or call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library (281-395-1311), the Sugar Land Branch Library (281-238-2140), or the library system’s Communications Office (281-633-4734).
