Austin, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) has announced that it will begin accepting applications for its next round of annual grants programs to Texas libraries on Oct. 24.
TSLAC’s Fiscal Year 2024 grant offerings include Texas Reads, TexTreasures, Special Projects and Regional ILS Cooperative grants, as well as a new grant program specifically geared toward funding Summer Reading Club programming. More information on this grant program will be released in November 2022.
Accredited Texas public and academic libraries are eligible to apply annually for TSLAC competitive grants for local programming if funding allows. Libraries curious about specific TSLAC competitive grants and the application process are encouraged to review the Notice of Funding Opportunities for each grant program.
Grant guidelines for each program as well as specific information about the application process, past recipients and additional resources are available on the TSLAC Grants and Funding webpage at www.tsl.texas.gov/ldn/grants. Applications will be due January 25, 2023.
Applicants are encouraged to participate in a webinar, Applying for TSLAC Competitive Grants: What You Need to Know for FY 2024, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This webinar will provide useful information about funding priorities and the application process. The commission awards funding through several library grant programs focusing on special projects, technology, reading and literacy initiatives, interlibrary resource collaboration and digitization efforts. The majority of funding for these local awards comes from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) in Washington, D.C.
