Fort Bend County Libraries’ Mission Bend Branch Library will present a program on “Pet-Friendly Gardening,” on Saturday, September 10, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8421 Addicks Clodine Road in northeast Fort Bend County.
Fort Bend County Master Gardener Tricia Bradbury will talk about landscape or garden plants that are safe to have arounds pets. Learn about plants that are recommended, as well as others that are poisonous for pets. Bradbury will also share tips on how to deal with gardening challenges when one has pets.
Gardeners of all experience levels who are interested in learning more about pet-friendly gardening are welcome to attend.
Bradbury has been a long-time member of the Sugar Land Garden Club and the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs. She is also a member of the Houston chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas and the South Texas unit of the Herb Society of America. Her backyard is certified as a Texas Parks & Wildlife Wildscape, a National Wildlife Federation Backyard Habitat, and a Monarch Watch Waystation Site. Her garden has been featured several times on the Sugar Land Garden Club’s spring garden tour and on the Fort Bend County Master Gardeners’ fall garden tour.
