The Katy Independent School District has received “Proficient” designation from the National Association of School Psychologist’s 2021 Excellence in School Psychological Services Recognition Program.

The district is the only one in Texas to receive this designation, the district said in a news release.

“Over the years, Katy ISD has established a solid foundation for our school psychologists to provide a comprehensive model of psychological services to our students and their families,” Kristie Moore, Coordinator for Crisis Intervention and Mental Health Support at Katy ISD, said. “Several Katy ISD Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSP) worked tirelessly on this proposal. To receive this distinction is a testament to Katy ISD’s dedication to the well-being of our students, staff and their loved ones.”

The district’s Psychological Services Department is a division of the Special Education Department. The Psychological Services Department has two licensed specialists and two interns.
