Fort Bend County Commissioner, Precinct 4, Ken R. DeMerchant welcomes Amazon to Fort Bend County.
On June 18th 2020, the Fort Bend Economic Development Council (FBEDC) formally announced the opening of an Amazon warehouse and distribution center to be located in Richmond, TX.
DeMerchant has worked with FBEDC since October of 2019 to secure Amazon in Fort Bend County, creating 1,000 new full-time jobs with an average of $18 per hour salary. The building, located on 93.5 acres at 10507 Harlem Road, will have an 825,000-square-foot footprint. The facility is set to go live before the peak season in the fourth quarter of 2021.
