Free Food Distribution At Northwest Assistance Ministries

HOUSTON, TX — On Saturday, May 16, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Joanne Watford Nutrition Center at Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) is hosting a Food Fair where free groceries will be distributed to families and seniors within the community. Fresh fruit and vegetables provided by the Houston Food Bank will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.

“There are a lot of people in our community who have been affected by COVID-19 in one way or another,” said Les Cave, President & CEO of NAM. “Most of them come to NAM asking for assistance with food. By holding this Food Fair at NAM, and on a Saturday, we hope to help even more people who are food insecure during this difficult time.”

Health safety is a priority at NAM. Everyone who arrives is being asked to stay in their vehicle. Food will be distributed via a drive-thru system. All that is required is a photo ID. NAM staff and volunteers – wearing masks – will bring the groceries to each car.

NAM is located at 15555 Kuykendahl Rd., Houston, TX 77090. For more information visit namonline.org or call (281) 885-4555.
