Learn About Business Accounting & Tax Prep At Cinco Ranch Branch Library Program

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program, “Business Accounting & Tax Preparation,” on Saturday, March 21, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

SCORE mentor Cristy Fontanilla will explain the key numbers/indicators on a financial statement and show how they can be used to guide one’s day-to-day business decisions. Get tips on how to manage financial information to stay on top of business tax reporting and tax dues. Fontanilla will also demonstrate how to monitor the health of one’s business by analyzing the financial figures.

Fontanilla is a Certified Management Accountant, Internal Auditor, Fraud Examiner, and Public Accountant. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting, at the University of Santo Tomas. She has more than 30 years of experience handling financial reporting, internal auditing, Sarbanes Oxley compliance review, and fraud prevention and investigation. A SCORE volunteer for many years, Fontanilla is also a faculty member with Houston Community College. She is a managing partner with FAS Bookkeeping & Tax Services and is the treasurer for the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce.

This program is presented in partnership with SCORE, the non-profit mentoring arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration. SCORE is an all-volunteer group with real-world business experience that is dedicated to helping small businesses succeed.

Materials for this program are provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library.
