Katy ISD Employees Receive Pay Increase Before the Holidays

KATY [December 12, 2019] –  As the holiday break approaches, Katy ISD employees will receive another pay increase to cap off a year of raises, that have resulted in 6% payroll growth for all staff— a move that was approved by District Trustees at their June 2019 Board meeting.

“I am beyond impressed and proud of our staff, said Dr. Ken Gregorski, Superintendent of Katy ISD. “I could not ask for a more talented, skilled and dedicated group of individuals.  So often, many of our staff spend over 40 hours a week ensuring that every single student, regardless of circumstance or challenge, has access to unparalleled learning experiences,” he added.

This year, Katy ISD made the most significant investment in recent history in their teachers and staff.  Employees returning from the 2018-19 school year received a 4% raise over the summer and a 1% lump sum payment at the beginning of the fall semester.  Employees saw another 1% lump sum payment this December— the latter of which represents a $5.8-million-dollar investment in the District’s staff.  Classroom teachers will also have the opportunity to increase their 2019-20 salary by an additional 2% as part of an attendance based performance incentive.

Katy ISD’s Food Services, Transportation and Custodial departments received their 1% lump sum payment in their December 6 bi-weekly paycheck, while remaining staff will receive it in their Friday, December 13 paycheck.

The District had a monumental year with recognitions and awards across the board, including being named the 2020 #1 school district in the Greater Houston Area by Niche, receiving a district-wide “A” letter grade from TEA, being recognized on the College Board’s annual Honor Roll, and countless other achievements among staff and students on its 66 campuses.
