Olson Opposes Democrat Spending Bill

Washington, DC — Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement after voting against H.R. 3055, the Democrats’ Continuing Resolution (CR) for government spending:

“This ‘new normal’ of passing partisan spending bills and refusing to work with House Republicans or the Senate, which results in stop-gap spending measures, must end. Congress has a critical role to keep our government properly funded and operational. It was wrong when it happened under GOP control and it’s wrong now. These stop-gap measures hurt military readiness, border security and disaster recovery. If we want this merry-go-round to finally stop, we need true bipartisanship. I stand ready to work with House Democrats on behalf of the American people. Today’s spending bill falls well short of that standard.”
