What Makes a Wall Mural Different?

Paint

Paint is undoubtedly the most common way to decorate a room in the house. It’s comparatively easy and cheap for an amateur to put up a solid coat of decent paint on a wall. Unfortunately, painting a room requires a lot of prep. You’ll need to move furniture, tape the borders, and cover objects that can’t be moved.

Paint also may or may not be washable and could fade after ten or so years of being in the light or being touched. Also, without an expert, it’s tough to get neat, unique designs onto a painted wall.

Traditional Wallpaper

Traditional wallpaper companies like Graham & Brown are large multimillion-dollar companies providing a variety of designs and textures to consumers. Wallpaper, along with paint, is the most common way for people to decorate their rooms. While thousands of designs and styles are readily available, there are some limitations.

For example, a traditional wallpaper roll is only two feet wide, making it difficult to put a large image onto the wall. Some uncoated paper wallpaper could fall apart in high humidity areas, and along with that, some wallpaper is not washable, meaning it accrues grime year after year.

Lastly, wallpaper removal is one of the worst parts of the redecorating process. You have to clean out your room, use bad-smelling sprays or rubs to soak into the wallpaper, and spend a full day stripping wallpaper that simply does not want to come off, off the walls.

Peel-and-stick wall murals

Similar, in a way, to wallpaper, peel-and-stick wall murals are a new way to decorate a wall! Except, unlike wallpaper, which is bound by rolls and roll widths, you can use wall murals to put large, custom images on the walls. Certain companies, like Limitless Walls, use the highest quality materials on the market. The canvas peel-and-stick option, for example, is the thickest on the market. This means that it will make a slightly textured wall appear more smooth, and because of its thickness, it will be easy to install!

Another benefit of these murals is that with proper care, they can be reused two or three times! Just ensure your wall is clean before application, and no dust or dirt gets on the mural. Save the backing paper that the peel-and-stick came with and attach it back to the mural when you want to put it into storage.

You won’t have to clear your space when you put it up, and even large murals can be pasted to the wall in fewer than a couple hours!

Non-peel-and-stick murals

These are also similar to wallpaper, and like peel-and-stick murals, can be used to put large images, patterns, or pictures onto the wall. They work especially well in harsher environments, like bathrooms. However, unlike our peel-and-stick murals, they are not reusable. Although they are not reusable, they are easier to remove than traditional wallpaper!
