Children’s Lighthouse Opens in Katy’s Nottingham Neighborhood

Premier Early Learning School to Host Grand Opening Event

KATY, Texas – Paving a path to academic success for young students, Childrens Lighthouse Learning Centers℠, widely recognized as the leading values-based, early learning school in the United States, will officially open in Katy, Texas the week of November 4, 2019. Children’s Lighthouse of Nottingham, owned and operated locally by Andy and Allisa Hovis, is located at 20225 Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, Texas and is now accepting enrollment. The school offers high-quality early childhood education that helps stimulate intellectual development in a safe, warm and welcoming environment designed to bring out the best in children. This new location is the fifth in Katy and the 18th in the greater Houston area.

To introduce members of the community to the school, Children’s Lighthouse of Nottingham will host a winter/holiday themed grand opening event on Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A variety of breakfast foods and beverages will be provided at the event and attendees are encouraged to interact with special guests like Santa Claus (currently enrolled Children’s Lighthouse families will receive a free 5×7 professional photograph with Santa) and Frozen’s Anna and Elsa. Additionally, the grand opening will feature a gingerbread house contest, holiday crafts, a Science Quest presentation, carnival games, a DJ with bubbles, a temporary tattoo station and inflatable bounce houses/obstacle courses.

“Andy and I love children and were looking for an opportunity to play a part in shaping the next generation,” said Allisa Hovis, co-owner of Children’s Lighthouse of Nottingham. “We were drawn to Children’s Lighthouse because of the fantastic educational curriculum, its emphasis on character development and the fact that it encourages employees to focus on the heart of the child. Andy and I are looking forward to expanding the Children’s Lighthouse footprint in Katy by continuing to offer a heightened level of care and professionalism.”

This is the first Children’s Lighthouse location for Andy and Allisa. As parents, and with backgrounds in commercial real estate brokering and nursing, they understand the importance of early childhood development and look forward to the opportunity to positively impact families in the community. Allisa and Andy will oversee the center managing day-to-day operations and will hire a director as well as additional full-time staff to facilitate education at the center.

The Children’s Lighthouse building spans approximately 11,000 feet; the square footage for the whole property is set on 1.7 acres. The early learning school will provide ample space for children to learn in classroom and group settings, while also offering sizeable play areas both inside and out. An on-site kitchen offers healthy meals and snacks daily for students. Children’s Lighthouse serves families with children six weeks to 12 years old. In addition to traditional school hours, highly interactive after-school programs and summer camps are available to children up to age 12.

Safety is a priority at Children’s Lighthouse. The schools are safe and secure environments that give parents peace of mind with computerized building entry, security monitoring and transportation to and from area elementary schools.

With experienced early childhood education professionals guiding the company’s operations, Children’s Lighthouse has embedded its proprietary Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S.℠ curriculum into its programming at all existing and upcoming schools. The integrated learning strategies of Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S.℠ focus on students’ intellectual development, social and emotional growth, active learning through hands-on lessons and embedded content that emphasizes the fundamental basics of phonics, reading, math, science and social studies.

“We are growing into new areas with talented individuals such as Andy and Allisa, who share our passion for community, nurturing care and education,” said Michael Brown, president of Childrens Lighthouse Learning Centers℠. “We couldn’t be happier about adding an early learning school in Nottingham and doing so with such dedicated and involved entrepreneurs.
