Festival of Trees Benefiting The Ballard House Returns to Katy’s Cane Island

KATY, TX (October 30, 2019) – A year after raising $90,000 for The Ballard House of Katy, the Festival of Trees returns to Cane Island November 29 – 30 when families can purchase custom-designed Christmas trees and wreaths, browse a massive holiday gift market, enjoy live entertainment, photos with Santa and more.

Proceeds from this year’s Festival of Trees will benefit The Ballard House and its mission of providing temporary housing for patients and their families coming to the Katy area for extended medical treatment.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. both days.  Free on-site parking is available.  All festival activities will be held in the Cane Island’s Cane Quarter, 2100 Cane Island Parkway.

The focal point of this year’s festival once again will be the Parade of Trees, more than 100 custom-designed Christmas trees and wreaths expertly themed and decorated by neighbors, businesses and organizations.  Each is available for purchase or visitors can browse the collection for fun Instagram photos or to pick up decorating ideas.

Festival of Trees will showcase more than 50 local exhibitors presenting crafts, jewelry, foods, gift items and great holiday finds, live music performances and other entertainment along with food truck cuisine and S’mores kits for fireside marshmallow roasting.

Photos with Santa and a Big Fun Kidz Zone with bounce houses, trackless train, face painting, balloon artists and pony rides are available for the little ones while the big kids will enjoy a collection of vintage and classic cars presented by the Katy Cruizers car collector club.

As for admission prices, new this year is a family four pack for $25. Single tickets are $10 for adults; children, senior citizens, veterans and first responders are $5; and children under three are free.

Festival of Trees is chaired by real estate consultants Brian Varvel and Christy Bohlen.

To reach Cane Island, take the Cane Island Parkway exit off Interstate 10 minutes west of the Grand Parkway.  Head north for one-half mile on Cane Island Parkway to the community entrance.
