National Charity League, Inc. Lady Bird Chapter Hosts Food Drive

Katy, TX , September 7, 2019 – This past September, the National Charity League, Inc., Lady Bird Chapter (NCL, Inc.) hosted a food drive at the Westland Baptist Church on Grand Parkway/99. The Class of 2022 organized the event which has become a fall tradition for the chapter. As a result of the event, 200 bags and 3,705 pounds of food were collected and donated to Katy Christian Ministries and Fort Bend County Women’s Center, two of the chapter’s philanthropies. Katy Christian Ministries has been helping local families and individuals fight poverty, food insecurity, domestic violence, and sexual assault since 1984. Fort Bend County Women’s Center provides a shelter to women and children who are faced with domestic violence and abuse.

About National Charity League, Inc., Lady Bird Chapter
National Charity League, Inc., Lady Bird Chapter provides hands-on volunteer service for 22 philanthropic organizations in the community. Members are women and their daughters in grades 7 –12. Through this community service, NCL, Inc. develops socially responsible community leaders and strengthens the mother-daughter relationship. The traditional six-year core program also includes leadership development and cultural activities. Mother-daughter teams nationwide are responsible, dedicated, skilled volunteers actively engaged in local community work in 27 states across the country.
