MIKE SCHOFIELD ANNOUNCES FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE

(Katy, TX) – Today, Mike Schofield officially announced that he is running for State Representative in Texas House District 132.

“The principles that have made America great – and have made Texas the envy of the rest of America – are free enterprise, limited government, low tax burden, and family values,” said Schofield. “I ran to fight for and protect these principles, and I will continue to do so if you send me back to the Texas House.’’

“Our district deserves a representative who is willing to hear directly from the families and constituents they are elected to represent,” continued Schofield. “I have knocked on thousands of doors and have had countless conversations about regarding the issues important to families and small business owners in Katy and Cypress.”

Mike served as state representative for District 132 during the 84th and 85th legislative sessions and was honored as “Freshman of the Year” for his work on crucial issues including school finance reform and property tax relief. Previously, Schofield served as an advisor to former Governor Rick Perry on Voter ID, Tenth Amendment issues, election law, the Texas judicial system, and property tax appraisal cap reduction.

“My experience allows for me to hit the ground running on day one to fight for the conservative priorities of our district, including lowering property taxes,” said Schofield. “The Democrat incumbent has shown through her liberal voting record that a radical social agenda is more important to her than improving the quality of life for the thousands of Texans she represents.”
