On Tuesday, September 17th, Pattison Elementary hosted an International Festival for parents and students, celebrating the wonderful diversity in their school and community. The lively evening began with a parade of students wearing their traditional attire.  Almost thirty booths, representing countries from Albania to Vietnam, were set up in the Gym and Cafeteria, where participants could travel to and have their Pattison “Passports” stamped while learning about the country. Each booth featured costumes, décor, food samplings, maps, facts, and history of their featured country. The students and parents were treated to lively entertainment that featured Taekwondo, Chinese Kung Fu, Scottish Fiddle, Acrobats, Chinese dance solo and group dance, Serbian “Kolo” dance, and Venezuelan music! It was a lovely evening of celebration and awareness of the larger world around us.
