Seven Katy ISD Students Receive Scholarships from Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital

HOUSTON (Aug. 8, 2019) – Seven Katy Independent School District (KISD) student athletic trainers were recently awarded Sports Medicine scholarships from Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, the official healthcare provider for KISD.

Each recipient was awarded a $500 sports medicine scholarship in recognition of the distinguished service the students provide to KISD athletic programs.  This year’s recipients are: Loughlin Douglas from Tompkins High School; Breanne Veeder from Cinco Ranch High School; Ashley McMasters and Noell Walker from Morton Ranch High School; Caroline Canterbury and Jared Pollack from Seven Lakes High School; and Sabrina Haagenson from Katy High School.

Douglas is heading to the University of North Texas to study sports medicine. Veeder will study medicine at the University of Texas San Antonio. McMasters plans to attend Stephen F Austin State University to study athletic training. Walker will be attending Texas Southern University. Canterbury is heading to Texas Tech University to study medicine. Pollack will be attending Lone Star College. Haagenson is heading to Marietta College to study physical therapy.

This is the 12th year that Memorial Hermann Katy has awarded these scholarships to KISD students. Parents, KISD Athletic Directors and each school’s head athletic trainer were in attendance for the scholarship presentation.
