Masters Upper Level Welcomes Allie Durbin As Company Director

Allie Brings Her Passion to the Next Generation of Dancers

[STAFFORD, TEXAS, July 15, 2019]  Masters Upper Level Dance Studio is excited to welcome Allie Durbin as its newest Company Director.  Allie started her pre-professional dance career with the highly regarded METdance – MET too and then attended Texas Christian University as a Nordan Fine Arts Scholar.  At TCU, Allie studied dance under the guidance of Joy Bollinger, Leah Cox, and Joshua L Peugh, eventually performing with Peugh’s Dark Circles Contemporary Dance Company. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance, Allie danced professionally for two seasons with NobleMotion Dance in Houston, Texas.  Allie brings these experiences together when she teaches dance.  “My philosophy behind teaching dance embodies diversity and creativity. I do not believe that dance should be siloed by genre, rather it should be a collective representation of the art. Dance is often misconstrued – my hope is to create a space that allows any audience to fully relate and embody the art.”

For all dancers, Masters Upper Level recognizes children have different paths and is focused on preparing children for both the world of dance and the world beyond.  It is Allie’s grit and determination that she wants to pass on to young dancers.  “My advice to young dancers is simple… be who YOU want to be – do not allow the opinions and voices around you to make decisions for you. Ultimately, you pave the way for your success. Do not allow for unhealthy and unwanted whispers into your head. Stand strong and firm in your dance career, because it is exactly what you make of it.”

Owner Michelle Pottorf is excited about the next chapter in the studio’s history.  She believes, “a successful dancer is much more than just a winner at competition. True success in dance is when a dancer’s passion for the art is so strong that they never want to stop dancing.  We want the studio to inspire each dancer in a way that they experience a passion for the art of dance and that will stay with them forever.”

Masters Upper Level is recognized as one of the top competitive dance studios in the nation. Masters Upper Level (MUL) is a trend-setting studio that raises the bar through a tradition of excellence in all genres of dance. A variety of dance programs for both recreational and competitive dancers are offered for children ages 3 to 18.
