Olson Announces Inaugural Members Of Health And Research Advisory Council

SUGAR LAND, TX– Last night, Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) acted to establish an advisory group to provide perspective on healthcare issues. Olson announced that Dr. Anna Allred, Veronica Daniels-Lewis, Justin Moehn, Ashlea Jenkins Quinonez and Lt. Scott Soland are the inaugural members of his Health and Research Advisory Council (HRAC).  The HRAC is a new Advisory Council for Congressman Pete Olson, which provides a forum to discuss the latest advances and research in healthcare. The members of the council are innovators and leaders in their respective fields and will play a key role in moving TX-22 and our country forward.

“The healthcare industry continues to advance, with new technologies and discoveries being made every day,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “The federal government needs to keep up with these changes, in order to encourage, not stifle innovation. Our HRAC members are all leaders in their respective fields and will provide critical local input on healthcare policy. I’m excited to work with them to improve the lives of folks in our community and country.”

Advisory council members include:

Dr. Anna Allred, a Critical Care Anesthesiologist with US Anesthesia Partners since 2014. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Texas A&M in 2003 and her MD from UT San Antonio in 2007. Dr. Allred currently resides in the Cinco Ranch/Katy area.

Veronica Daniels-Lewis, a local Multiple Sclerosis Advocate from the Sugar Land area who leads a local MS support group that meets every month at Methodist Hospital. Veronica earned her BBA in Marketing from Texas Women’s University in 1984 and is currently pursuing a Heath Coaching Certification. She is a longtime volunteer with the National MS Society, having joined after her diagnosis in 1996. Recently, Veronica received the 2019 Breakthrough Award for Service from the National MS Society and is consistently featured in the MS Connection Newsletter.

Justin Moehn, works at Spectrum Fusion as an Archivist/Administrative Assistant and has a passion to help others who have autism. He earned his certificate in PC Technical Support from Wharton County Jr. College. Working at Spec-Pres, which is part of Spectrum Fusion, Justin manages spreadsheets, website updates, inventory and helps with data entry and research. He also helped with Spectrum Fusion’s Reactor Room Program, which aims to give folks on the autism spectrum the tools and strategies needed to pursue their professional interests.

Ashlea Jenkins Quinonez, Director of Government Relations for Memorial Hermann where she is responsible for implementing legislative and public policy strategies and leading efforts in strategic planning, outreach and community engagement. Prior to joining the Memorial Hermann Health System, Ashlea worked for the global engineering and construction services company KBR, served in senior legislative and management capacities for former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm and Congressman Sam Johnson and as a senior member of the government affairs team for former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt.

Lt. Scott Soland, is a 26 year law enforcement veteran, nine of those years with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. He is the founder of the department’s award-winning Crisis Intervention Team (CIT). His instructor certifications include Firearms, Taser, Pressure Point Control Tactics, ALERRT, and Mental Health Peace Officer. He was the lead instructor for the 40 hour Mental Health Peace Officer Certification Course and the TCOLE 1850, Crisis Intervention Training Course through the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy. He has also served in the Hot Spot Unit and SWAT during his time with Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and is currently the president of the Texas CIT Association.
