American Red Cross Hosts 10th Annual Golf Tournament

ORANGE, TEXAS, (June 13, 2019) — The Southeast and Deep East Texas Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to host its 10th Annual Swing RED Golf Tournament to be held in Orange, Texas at the Sunset Grove Country Club on Saturday, June 15th with registration beginning at 7a.m.  This event helps support basic functions of the organization like responding to home fires; installing smoke alarms; educating the public about preparedness; and Service to the Armed Forces, Veterans and their families.

As in years past, this year’s title sponsor is Sabine River Ford in Orange.  “We are extremely grateful to Ross and Eva Smith and their family for their continued support and commitment,” said Skylar Thompson, Chapter Board Chair.

“The Red Cross is known for responding to community needs during disasters like flooding and hurricanes, but every day we respond to home fires where we meet the immediate emergency needs of the affected family and then connect that family to other resources to assist them in their recovery,” said Chester R. Jourdan, Jr., Executive Director. “This golf tournament allows us to interact with community leaders, donors and supporters in a friendly atmosphere and raise funds to support the Red Cross mission of alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies.”

In addition to a round of golf, there is a light breakfast, drinks and lunch provided for all participants.
