Inspiration Stage Announces Open Auditions June 2
SUGAR LAND, Texas (May 28, 2018) – Sugar Land’s national award-winning community theatre, Inspiration Stage, is excited to announce open auditions for MAMMA MIA!.
A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget!
ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.
The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make MAMMA MIA! a guaranteed smash hit.
“I am very excited about returning to Inspiration Stage for the summer musical! MAMMA MIA! is a jukebox musical, it’s a romantic comedy, and so it requires an ensemble of actors ready to sing, dance, and create these characters,” says Nathan Hand, the shows director and choreographer. “No roles are pre-cast. All roles are available to those actors auditioning June 2. Those auditioning shall sing up to 32 bars of a fully memorized song that is in the style of the show and perform a short sequence of group choreography from the show.”
Open auditions will be held for adult actors and dancers, ages 16 and older, at Inspiration Stage, Sunday, June 2 from 6pm – 10pm.
There are two audition time slots to choose from:
- 6pm – 8pm with a dance call at 7:30pm; or
- 8pm – 10pm with a dance call at 9:30pm.

Callbacks will be held Tuesday, June 4 from 6pm – 10pm. All actors called back need to be present for entire callback time. There will be a dance call, songs and scenes from show.
Inspiration Stage is a national award-winning performance arts studio located in the historic Sugar Land Auditorium at 226 Lakeview Dr. The 2018/2019 season includes youth and adult productions, as well as acting and production classes.
