New KCM Kingsland Resale Store is Now Open!

Katy Christian Ministries 2nd Resale Store Now Open at Grand Parkway & Kingsland Blvd.

[Katy, TX, May 16, 2019] Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) is pleased to announce the opening of its Kingsland Resale Store & Donation Center location at Kingsland Plaza, 23232 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, TX. Thrift shoppers south of I-10 in Katy are now able to shop and donate at its convenient new location. This new location also includes a Boutique that will offer name brand and new items with original tags.

“After a successful Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 1st, officiated by the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, we are excited that the Resale Store is now open for business! This is a wonderful addition for KCM and this second location is geographically convenient for our neighbors South of I-10,” said Deysi Crespo, Executive Director of KCM. “This store is made possible by the many people that have volunteered, donated, and shopped at our KCM Resale Store, people who believe in what we are doing and the difference they are helping us make in our community.”

“With the addition of this Resale Store’s 9,000 sq. ft., we are increasing both the capacity and scope of our services”. Kent Black, KCM Board President added, “As our community and the need for services grows. KCM must grow to continue fulfilling its mission to transform lives.”

Proceeds from the sales of donations from the new Donation Center and Resale Store support the work of KCM as it works locally to alleviate poverty, address food insecurities, and provide immediate and long-term crisis interventions and counseling for victims of domestic and sexual violence. “These funds stay in our community and benefit our neighbors who may find themselves in a seemingly impossible situation. With God’s love as our foundation, nothing is impossible through His guidance and the support of the community,” added Crespo. “The increase in funds from the second Resale Store will allow us to continue our strategic growth to match the growth in the Katy/Fulshear area, and the needs that will parallel that growth.”

Now KCM offers 2 convenient shopping locations, as the KCM Resale Store on First Street, in Old Katy will remain open as well. The KCM Donation Center has been relocated to a space next door to the new Kingsland Resale Store and continues to make donation pickups in the local community. KCM has leveraged the projected growth in donation pickups by purchasing a new box truck made possible by Second Baptist Church.

“We had a line of eager community members waiting for us to open this doors this morning at 9am! I’m honored to be a part of this growing ministry and I am excited that God continues to bless us with our expansion with to this second resale location,” said Christina Wiggins, KCM Resale Store Manager.

New Store Needs: 1. We are in need of volunteers at BOTH store locations so please visit www.ktcm.org/volunteer to submit your application and find a day/time to attend a quick orientation session. If you have already done all this, just show up! We really could use your help! 2. We also need hangers (retail style) and plastic grocery bags to help us save on costs to run a second store. These items can be brought to either store location. 3. Your donations of gently used items! For a full list of items we can/cannot accept, or to schedule a pickup from your home or business, please visit www.ktcm.org/resale.
