SUGAR LAND, TX – Yesterday, Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) met with US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) Field Office Director Wallace Carroll at the USCIS Houston office. During the meeting, they discussed USCIS efforts to address the excessive backlog Houston area constituents face with N-400 applications for Naturalization and I-485 “green card” applications, as well as the bipartisan letterRep. Olson recently led inquiring about the backlog and requesting the funds necessary to address this issue.
“It was invaluable to meet with folks at USCIS yesterday to discuss their efforts to address the backlog of immigration and citizenship applications in our region,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “Houston is a global city and our residents should not face months of additional delays simply based on location. I’m pleased to work with Director Carroll to ensure these applications are processed in a timely manner and hope this issue will be fixed soon.”
