Cinco Ranch Branch Library Recognizes Earth Month With Environmental Program

In recognition of Earth Month in April, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program promoting environmental awareness – “Reducing Your Plastic Footprint” – on Tuesday, April 2, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

Debby Wendt, program coordinator for the Coastal Prairie Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists, will talk about the impact of plastics on the environment and ways to reduce or eliminate the amount of plastics that are used. Hear about alternatives to disposable, one-use items such as plastic baggies and straws. Wendt will also talk about the harmful effects of balloon releases and will offer suggestions for other activities that can be just as meaningful.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library at 281-395-1311 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
