THE HOUSTON POLISH FESTIVAL

The annual Houston Polish Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the state of Texas, celebrating the rich heritage and accomplishments of the Polish people through its unique cuisine, customs, libations, music, history, traditions, and culture.   This is one of the most colourful, spirit filled and uniquely decorated festivals you will find in Texas.   Walking into the festival you will feel the Polish spirit and culture envelop you.  The unique Polish costumes can be seen throughout the festival on young and old.  You will hear the rich Polish folk music that will have you tapping your feet.  Walking into the festival be tempted by the aromas of the Polish food and ready to try the wonderful cuisine of Poland and even learn a Polish word or two.

The festival features a full 3-day program with something for everyone.  Features include live music from an assortment of artists including traditional Polish folk dances presented by our very own Polish folk-dance group Wawel.  The Group will set the tone for the festival through their energy-packed folk dances that originated in Poland.  Each dance will be featured with each region’s traditional costumes.  This festival is an experience unlike anything else and it is happening in the heart of Houston.

As the festival officially opens on Friday, visitors will be immersed in the sounds of the Polish folk music band Tekla Klebetnica coming directly from Poland.  This award-winning group came in 2nd place in Poland’s Got Talent   Grammy Award-winning Polka legends Bravo Combo will return to perform a live concert.  And Texas very own Brian Marshall, known as the Polish Fiddler and the Tex-Slavic Playboys will be on hand for more dancing and entertainment.  Keep checking the schedule for updates on more exceptional entertainers.

Besides the spectacular cultural entertainment, the Houston Polish Festival is known for its deliciously authentic Polish food, which brings the taste of Poland to the city of Houston. Enjoy the amazing selection of traditional Polish food such as pierogi (stuffed dumplings), golabki (cabbage rolls), bigos (hunter’s stew) and kielbasa (sausage) as well as the impressive assortment of traditional cakes and desserts!
