Katy City has their annual “The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting”

Katy City has their annual “The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting” event tomorrow, Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 PM. The event will be held outside City Hall, on the Avenue C side. It will include food trucks, hot chocolate, letter writing to Santa, a life-size snow globe for photos, performances by Katy Elementary 5th grade choir and Juleigh Holley’s School of Day dance company – all leading up to Santa making his arrival and him and the Mayor lighting up the big Christmas Tree. Afterwards, Santa will stay for photos (until 8 PM). If you can, bring a new, unwrapped toy for the “Toys for Tots” toy drive. Also, come back to Downtown Historic Katy this weekend for Katy Market Day’s “Katy Old-Fashioned Christmas Festival” on Saturday, December 1 from 10 AM to 5 PM. This free family event will boast vendors, food trucks, beer garden, Santa and a snow park. Canned goods can be brought and donated – all will be given to a local food pantry. Come out tomorrow and this Saturday to kick-off the Christmas season!
