Katy wins Water Tank of The Year

Since 2006, Tnemec has celebrated the innovative and creative uses of its coatings on water tanks with the annual Tank of the Year contest. Each year, tanks of all varieties from across the U.S. and Canada are narrowed down to determine the most impressive coatings projects in the water tank industry.

A pair of municipal water tanks in Katy, Texas, are this year’s winner of the Tank of the Year award. The legged water tanks were selected by a panel of water tank enthusiasts based on criteria such as artistic value, significance of the tank to the community, and challenges encountered during the project.

“We have two water tower painted in geese murals, representing the rice and waterfowl history of the town.  Also, the nearby Katy Prairie Conservancy keeps our history at our fingertips.

Very exciting we won,” says Chris Harris Councilmember At-Large, City of Katy.
Congratulations to the 2018 winner and all the runners-up. For more information about Tnemec coatings and linings for water tanks and other high-profile structures, contact your local representative.
