Earlier this week, Harris County officials set August 25 as the date for a $2.5 billion bond election for flood control projects in the county.
While the county has yet to say what projects would be included in the bond package, they have set a series of meetings around the county to seek public input. Several of the meetings that will be held in our area. We will alert you when any meetings are scheduled nearby, so you can make plans to attend and have your voice heard (or just learn about the bonds).
The first two meetings in our area have already been scheduled.
The meeting for the Cypress Creek Watershed has been scheduled for this Friday, June 15 from 6pm to 8pm. It will be held at the Raveneaux Country Club on 9415 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379
A meeting on Addicks Reservoir has also been scheduled for June 21 from 6pm to 8pm at the Richard and Meg Weekley Center on 8440 Greenhouse Road, Cypress, TX 77433.
Other watershed meetings in our area have not yet been scheduled, but the full list of watershed meetings can be found at:
If you are not able to attend a meeting, you can still give Harris County Flood District your input. Visit https://www.hcfcd.org/bond-program/community-input/ to submit your comments online, by phone, or by mail.
