HOUSTON – Thursday, May 31 will be a night bolstering with celebratory remarks of honor, gratitude and hard work, as the Houston CPA Society celebrates their Awards Banquet at the Whitehall Hotel. The night will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. and dinner and presentation at 7 p.m. Khambrel Marshall, member of KPRC-TV’s Severe Weather Team and host of “Houston Newsmakers with Khambrel” will be the emcee, and entertainment will be performed by local Houston jazz band, Luxury Trio.
“It is an honor to be able to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our CPAs in Houston and the successes we have had as a profession and organization,” said Houston CPA Society Executive Director Jennifer Poff.
Forty- and 50-year Houston CPA Society members will be recognized for their dedication to the profession. Scholarships will be awarded along with Accounting Excellence Awards to students from nine area universities.
“Because of this scholarship, I will be the first in my family to pursue an MBA in Accounting” says Karhen Y. Jimenez, a 2018 accounting scholarship recipient.
