Sen. Cruz Issues Statement Regarding Recent Bombings in Austin, Texas

Stands ready to assist and advocate for resources needed in investigation, urges Austinites to heed warnings of local officials

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today issued a statement regarding the fourth bombing in Austin, and urged residents to heed the warnings of local officials.

“I spoke with Mayor Adler and Police Chief Manley today to get an update on the situation on the ground, and stand ready to assist and advocate for the resources needed in this investigation,” Sen. Cruz said. “Our hearts are heavy over the senseless murders of Anthony Stephan House and Draylen Mason, and we continue to pray for their families, for those injured by these violent attacks, and for the safety of Austin residents. We remain grateful for our law enforcement officials working around the clock to identify and bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to justice, and their dedicated efforts to keep Austinites safe and secure.

“For those in and around Austin, please heed the warnings of local officials. Pay close attention to any suspicious device – whether it be an unexpected package, a bag, a backpack, or anything that looks out of place. Don’t approach it, and immediately contact local authorities.
