Also at the Gala, The Arc of Katy will present two of the organization’s key supporters with the Ann Davis Founder’s Award and The Arc of Katy Volunteer of the Year recognition.  In addition, as a new feature of the Gala in 2018, The Arc of Katy is honoring two of our Katy Hometown Heroes who make this community a great place for our program participants and members to live, work and thrive.

Individuals will be nominated for The Arc of Katy Hometown Heroes awards by the residents of the community at large in recognition of the nominees’ community service and advocacy for individuals with special needs.  The two honorees will be selected by a committee of community leaders.  Nomination forms must be submitted by March 15, 2018.

Note to editors:  The Arc of Katy is a 501(c) 3 organization that provides opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to be included as respected and active members of their community throughout their lifetimes. The Arc of Katy operates a day program for individuals with I/DD ages 18 and above, as well as a summer program and weekend socials throughout the year for teens and adults with I/DD. These programs provide community-based life skills, socialization, entertainment and recreation in a safe social setting.  The Arc also is exploring opportunities to expand its programs and services for children, teens and adults and their families.
