Harris County Public Health’s new mobile fleet will deliver services to residents impacted by Hurricane Harvey as survey takers canvass neighborhoods to assess residents’ needs. Staff and volunteers from Harris County Public Health (HCPH) will be going door to door in recently flooded areas of Aldine on Friday and Saturday, September 29 and 30. Survey teams will be asking how residents were impacted during Hurricane Harvey and what their current needs are. In addition HCPH’s brand new mobile units will be providing: food, childhood and adult vaccines, wellness screenings, insect repellent, food safety, pet food and vaccines at NO COST.
The survey, Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER), is based on a federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) model. The results will be shared with local, state and federal public partners to better understand how residents were impacted and what their current needs are.
Survey questions residents will be asked are: Did you evacuate? Was there damage to your home? Have you noticed mold in your home since the flooding? Currently, what is your household’s greatest need?
Residents will not be asked to sign the survey or identify themselves, their addresses will not be included on the surveys, and all answers are confidential.

The HCPH mobile units will be offering public health services at the following locations:
