Sen. Cruz Sits Down with Jessica Headley of San Antonio’s KABB Fox 29 In One-on-One Interview

Senator Ted Cruz

Discusses efforts to help the Central Texas economy grow and other national issues

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – On Monday, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) held a town hall with constituents in New Braunfels, following a tour of Sysco Central Texas, Inc. and delivered remarks at the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce luncheon. There, he discussed his priorities for Texas, including repealing and replacing Obamacare, and implementing fundamental tax reform.

Later in the day, Sen. Cruz toured Division Laundry & Cleaners, where he sat down with Jessica Headley of San Antonio’s KABB Fox 29. When asked about health care reform, Sen. Cruz reiterated his commitment to repealing and replacing Obamacare.

“Failure is not an option,” Sen. Cruz said. “You know what I hear as I travel Texas, every day I hear from Texans who say, ‘I can’t afford health insurance. I can’t afford to take care of my family.’ And the federal government caused that problem through Obamacare. We need to fix it. And I think we can. I think we’re probably at 45, 46 votes in the Senate. We need 50. We’re not there yet. But I believe we can get there, and the key to getting there, is focusing like a laser on lowering premiums, and making health insurance more affordable.”
