Central Fort Bend Chamber Celebrates the Remodeling of Walmart Supercenter #546 with a Ribbon Cutting

The newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter located at 5330 F.M. 1640 in Richmond hosted an unveiling celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, May 26, 2017.

The ceremony began with the Color Guard Assembly, an invocation provided by Pastor Archie Collins, World Changers Church and Rhonda Phillips, a Customer Service Manager at Walmart, who beautifully sang The National Anthem. Oscar Smith, Manager, Walmart #546 presented checks provided by Walmart Grant Program to Knox Memorial Library, Guiliana’s Playroom, Family Life Community Resource Center and Lamar ProGrad.

This project represents Walmart’s reinvestment in the store, its customers, and the community. The remodel provides a new fresh produce experience and remodeled electronics department. Customers can also expect a new and improved customer service center with Money Services and Walmart Pickup. Shopping is more convenient than ever as Fort Bend County residents can shop millions of items on Walmart.com, many of which can be shipped for free to any Walmart store through Walmart Pickup.

“We are very proud to re-introduce our store to the community with expanded offerings and a fresh look. Our everyday low prices will remain the same, but we’re adding greater convenience and a new and improved local grocery shopping experience,” said store manager Oscar Smith. Mr. Smith introduced key staff members and thanked all of the employees of Walmart #546 for their hard work, “Everyone that works here is very dedicated, this could have never happened had it not been for the best Walmart team ever.”
