Senior Javlyn Cameron competed at her third and final UIL State Track and Field Meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on Saturday, May 13. She had an outstanding performance in the 6A division of the 100 meter hurdles earning the bronze medal in the event. Javlyn ran a fast personal record time of 13.54.

Last year at State, she received the silver medal and her sophomore year she earned bronze. This is a huge feat to medal 3 years in a row in the same event against some of the toughest competition in the nation.
Javlyn has racked up many track accolades during her 4 year tenure at Mayde Creek. She has been a great leader and role model for her teammates and a major component for the Mayde Creek Girls Track Team. We will definitely miss her. Javlyn will continue her track career at Texas State University and we look forward to watching her compete collegiately. We wish Javlyn the best and know she will do great things.

This is a huge accomplishment at this level of competition. The hard work Javlyn has put in over the years really paid off. Please congratulate her when you see her.
