World Theater Upcoming Events in April and May

The Best of Golden Oldies will be presented April 21, 7:30 p.m. and Saturday April 22nd, 2:00 p.m. matinee performance. Enjoy an evening with “song birds” Winkie and Marybelle performing well known “Golden Oldies” with heart and soul. The much loved songs that uplift our lives will include New York, New York, Stand by Me, The Girl from Ipanema, All that Jazz, The Age of Aquarius, People and many more unforgettable songs and Broadway show tunes to bring us all back to memory lane. Since it is “Golden Oldies”, a promo code for senior is created for this event. By using code “lovesenior” seniors will receive $8 off per ticket.
Winkie Ballas Jamail, Producer, Voice Coach, Director, Writer (Screen & Song) and Educator has performed at the MGM Arena in Vegas and Caesar’s in Tahoe; had shows for CBS, ABC, A&E and ESPN; was cast as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar with Equinox theatre; toured the US as lead vocalist for the Jimmy Clanton Showband; performed live at the Royal Albert Hall in England for the Dual Of The Giants; produced, wrote, recorded 26 CD’s for Dance Vision International (all currently being sold); produced an original orchestral piece to be presented to the King of Oman; produced and directed Houston Performs America!; past and present freelancer appearing in multiple venues as a special guest artist.
Marybelle Chaney, Lecturer of Drama, Actors Equity Professional Performer has performed in 65 Theater Under The Stars shows; Evita National Tour, Golden Nugget Levinson National Tour, Ausha Bosley International Tour; Performed in a classical vocal group in European tour. Producer, Director Choreographer of Houston Performs Production Company. Marybelle has performed in many Regional Theatre productions: Wizard Of Oz, Guys And Dolls, Olivier, West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Fiddler On the Roof, Sound Of Music, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Kind and I, Brigadoon, Chess, My Fair Lady, Camelot and many more.
The International Art Festival & Cinco De Mayo Celebration will take place May 6, 11a.m. – 8 p.m. Join in a whole day of outdoor & indoor events including visual and performing artists who will be showcasing their diverse talents. The Festival will include a joyous Cinco De Mayo Celebratory Performance with multi-cultural singers and dancers from the Greater Houston and Katy area.
