New book by Rev. Dr. Jasmin O. Brown, Dmin, DSL, explores her formula for effective leadership

‘Integrity3 The Importance of Integrity in Christian Leadership’ is Brown’s debut book

Perturbed by ethical scandals, sexual misconducts, infidelity, abuse of power, mismanagement of financial resources, ineffective leadership skills and poor organizational structure she saw negatively impacting the church over the years, Rev. Dr. Jasmin O. Brown, Dmin, DSL, was motivated to write “Integrity3 The Importance of Integrity in Christian Leadership: Giftedness + Integrity3 = Leadership Productivity” (published by WestBow Press). The text presents her formula for effective leadership: “Giftedness + Integrity3 = Leadership Productivity.”

Brown believes that integrity is extremely important for Christian leadership. The book explores three dimensions of integrity: personal integrity (the leader’s character), vocational integrity (the leader’s competence) and organizational integrity (the leader’s commitment and contribution to the organization). She proposes that it is imperative for leaders to exhibit integrity at all three levels in order to be effective in leadership. The book utilizes biblical theology and highlights the success of leaders in the Bible who led with integrity as well as the failure of those who were gifted but lacked integrity.

“The most important fact that I would like readers to take away from this book is the knowledge that giftedness or talent is never enough for effective leadership,” Brown says. “It is rather the combination of giftedness and the demonstration of all three dimensions of integrity that will result in productive or fruitful leadership.”
