Pup Crawl at the Houston Arboretum

Head to the Arboretum for the second annual Pup Crawl & Pet Expo. The Houston Arboretum is excited to partner with Saint Arnold Brewing Company and BARC (City of Houston’s Animal Shelter) again to put on this popular event. Stop for brews along the trails as you take a walk with man’s best friend. In addition to the beer crawl, the event will include food trucks, a Pet Expo featuring local vendors, and BARC will be on site with dogs available for adoption. All proceeds from the event will benefit BARC and the Houston Arboretum.

Guests get a punch card upon arrival. There will be three stops to visit along the nature trail, and you can “crawl” to them in any order you choose. Along the way, there will be plenty of beer, as well as water and other goodies for your pup. When you arrive at the last stop, you’ll redeem your punch card for an Ale Wagger pint glass and enjoy a beer in the great outdoors.

There will be no on-site parking for the event; however parking is available at the 4801 Woodway garage. From the off-site parking, there is a dog-friendly shuttle to the Arboretum. Guests are also encouraged to take Uber or Lyft – many drivers are dog-friendly as long as you ask in advance.

ABOUT BARC:   BARC is the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Facility and the only city shelter in Houston required by law to accept every animal that comes through our doors regardless of breed, temperament, health conditions, and circumstance (from owner surrender, stray pickup, rescued or confiscated animals). We have built a best-in-class team that stewards our mission of professionalism, responsibility, compassion, commitment, integrity, and accountability.

BARC is dedicated to pet adoption and a live release initiative. In addition to sheltering and providing veterinary care to all animals brought to the shelter, we work diligently to place these animals in new homes. We collaborate and coordinate with our Houston Pet Rescue groups and through social media networks to cast the widest possible adoption net. We also provide intensive neo-natal and adult pet fostering programs, along with hands-on volunteer training classes and continuous workshops.

Our mission is to promote and protect public health and animal care through sheltering, pet placement programs, pet ownership education and animal law enforcement. We are dedicated to the humane, efficient, high quality care of animals in our shelter. Go to http://www.houstontx.gov/barc/ for more information.

ABOUT ST. ARNOLD BREWING COMPANY:

Saint Arnold Brewing Company, located in Houston, is Texas’ Oldest Craft Brewery. Our goal is to brew world class beers and deliver them to our customers as fresh as possible making them the best beers in Texas and Louisiana. Our customers are beer lovers – people that appreciate great, full-flavored beers.

Our small crew does everything at the brewery: brew the beer, filter the beer, keg the beer, bottle the beer, sell the beer and drink the beer. For us, this is a passion, not a job. We believe that this comes through in the beers we make. Our beers have soul.

We brew several different beers; some are year round, some are seasonal and a few are single batch brews. They are available in bars, restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores and warehouse stores throughout Texas and Louisiana. Our Brewery & Beer Hall is located just north of Downtown Houston at 2000 Lyons Ave. We are open to the public Monday through Saturday. Go to https://www.saintarnold.com/ to learn more.
