KelseyCare Launches Telemedicine Services Exclusively for Health Plan Members

Patients with certain acute symptoms can access convenient care from their smartphone or computer

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is now offering two telemedicine options for KelseyCare Health Plan members: E-visits (medical visits conducted through a secure electronic exchange) and Video Visits (medical visits conducted through a secure, live video exchange.) Telemedicine is delivered to patients by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic providers who have access the patient’s medical records and can send secure updates to the patient’s primary care physician.

“Telemedicine is a growing field in medicine that helps connect patients with a medical provider safely, conveniently and from a location of their own choosing – making care more accessible to those who aren’t able to get in to see their physician,” said Donnie Aga M.D., Medical Director for Healthcare Innovation, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “Our telemedicine program will be unique because our patients are talking to Kelsey-Seybold providers who will have access to the patient’s records and see their complete medical history. This allows the provider to have better insight and look at the patient’s entire picture of health.”

Kelsey-Seybold’s two telemedicine options are similar in that they both offer patient’s remote access to a board-certified Kelsey-Seybold Clinic provider who can review their medical records and send secure updates to the patient’s primary care physician or Pediatrician– but they differ in execution:
