Katy Taste Fest set to serve an abundant portion of food, fun and philanthropy March 4, 2017

 

 

Festival’s charity partners include Katy Care, Krause Children’s Center, Helping Kids Ministry,

and Armor of Hope Foundation

 

Katy (February 22, 2017) – Katy Taste Fest, the city’s first festival for foodies will debut at Villagio Town Center March 4, 2017. The festival celebrates all things food from some of the best Katy restaurants. Emphasis is on food, family, and fun with bites from 25 local restaurants, cooking demonstrations, beer/wine, a large kids zone, live entertainment, and a silent auction. Fun for the whole family. $25 advance tickets for the 2017 festival are available until February 28at www.KatyTasteFest.com.

The inaugural festival will feature more than 50 tastes and bites from new to tried favorites. The festival will focus on celebrating the diversity of the restaurant scene. Cuisines represented will include Indian, Chinese, Korean, Thai, South African, Mexican, Columbian, Italian, Mediterranean, farm to table, burgers, BBQ, steaks, creole, and seafood. Participants will include Whiskey Cake, Dish Society, Jimmy Changas, Local Table, Chowpatty Express, Mi Pueblito, and many more.

This is a celebration of food while being able to give back to the community,” said Cyril Thomas, festival coordinator. Katy Taste Fest has partnered with several local nonprofits that focus on abused, neglected, and abandoned children including Katy Cares, Helping Kids Ministry, Krause Children’s Center, and Armor of Hope Foundation. “We believe that Katy Taste Fest’s focus on philanthropy is an opportunity for the community to rally for our neighbors in need, both locally and globally, and we’re thrilled to be onboard as a charity partner this year,” said Allison Stark, President and CEO of Katy Cares.
