Jersey Village (10-1) vs. Katy (10-1) The Falcons face the Tigers at 1 p.m. Friday at Legacy Stadium. The Falcons defeated Chavez, 56-12, in the bi-district round. By George Slaughter High school football playoff time is here, and Katy, Seven Lakes, Taylor, and Tompkins begin their football playoff quest Friday night. Katy (9-1) vs. Fort Bend Travis (8-2) The Tigers meet the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Legacy Stadium. The game is a rematch of last year’s bi-district game, which Katy won 45-14. Chad Simmons Named Taylor Head Football Coach

By George Slaughter The Katy Independent School District Board of Trustees Monday night appointed Chad Simmons as the new head football coach at Taylor High School. Simmons had served on the Cinco Ranch coaching staff since 2000, and as defensive coordinator since 2004. Simmons comes into a good situation at Taylor.
