By George Slaughter Police Chief Bill Hastings is retiring today after nine years on the job, and the Katy City Council honored him for his service Monday. Katy Man Shot, Killed by Brother

By George Slaughter Katy Police Chief Bill Hastings said Monday night that no charges have been filed against a Katy man who shot and killed his brother early Monday morning following a domestic dispute at the family home. Clifton Achterberg, 34, was shot in the back with a pistol fired by his brother Walter Achterberg, 31.
