Join us for our first meeting of a new book club taking place at the No Label Brewery at 5351 1st Street in Katy on Monday, April 10, at 8:00 p.m.. We’ll be discussing “Life After Life” by Kate Atkinson. Pick up a copy of the book at the Katy Branch Library’s front desk and join us at No Label Brewery for a fun time. Because of the flooding of Katy VFW Hall last year, the annual Book Sale sponsored by Friends of Katy Library will be held at Katy Branch Library located at 5414 Franz Road in Katy  on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9 AM until 5 PM . Used books for adults and children. Hardbacks $1, Paperbacks 50 cents. Children’s books 3 for $1. All profits go to fund Katy Library children and adult programs.

 

 

Teens, come to the library for Teen Tech Week on Monday, March 6 at 4:00 p.m. to make your own Edible Mars Rover. Come find out how to create this small-scale replica of the Rover and then enjoy it as an edible treat.

Chess players of all ages and skill levels – from beginners to advanced – are invited to practice their strategies and share tips with others at a special “Chess Day @ the Library” on Saturday, March 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.
Learn a new chess move (or two) during this come-and-go event. Experienced players will be on hand to provide tips and assistance. A limited number of chess sets will be provided, but players are welcome to bring their own sets as well.

The AARP volunteers will be here to help file taxes at the Katy Branch Library on Tuesday, March 7, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. An AARP volunteer begins taking registration at 10:00 a.m. Be prepared to wait and come in by 3:00 p.m. to ensure you get on the list for each day.
