Learn About Container Gardening At Library Program

Feb 20, 2017

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a program, “Taming Your Container Gardens,” on Monday, February 20, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.

Fort Bend County Master Gardener Kathy Gilmore will discuss container gardening for the home. Whether the gardener has limited space, limited mobility, or simply wants to enhance the landscape with different types of plantings, container gardening offers a variety of alternatives. Learn about the wide range of container sizes and the types and varieties of plants that do well in containers. Gilmore will demonstrate how to plant a container garden and how to care for and maintain the plants. Gardeners of all experience levels who are interested in learning more about container gardening are welcome to attend.

Gilmore has been a Master Gardener since 2011 and is a member of the Houston Rose Society. She also writes a bi-monthly column on gardening tips for the Meadows Place community.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library at 281-633-4675 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
